DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante (MACA) presents the film series Black Cinema: Audiovisual Resonances from Africa and the Diaspora, a cinematic programme inspired by the work of American artist Kara Walker and the exhibition Burning Village, which attracted over 44,000 visitors in Alicante.\nCurated by Beatriz Leal, a researcher specialising in contemporary African art and cinema, the cycle brings together five fiction films by pioneering African and African-American filmmakers whose works engage with the themes, forms and poetic strength of Kara Walker’s creative universe.
