DESCRIPTION:Espacio Séneca hosts the exhibition “Alicante in the Soul. A Photographic Journey through Alicante’s Traditional Trades” by the Mediterranía Foto collective. The exhibition opens on 15 January at 6:30 pm and will be on view until 22 February.\nCurated by Natalia Molinos, the exhibition features 52 photographs inspired by the mural created in 1948 by Gastón Castelló for the former bus station, now Espacio Séneca. The exhibition highlights traditional trades that shaped Alicante’s economy and still endure today, grouped into five areas: the sea; clay and stone; fruits, aromas and sweets; fibre, palm and textiles; and leather and games.\nThe exhibition is complemented by a documentary screening, talks and a selection of objects from the Biomimeti Foundation – Circle of Arts and Crafts of Alicante, as well as additional projected images by Mediterranía Foto.\nComplementary activities\n\n\nThursday, 22 January · 6.30 pmDocumentary presentation: “150 Years of the Footwear Industry in Elche”, by filmmaker Juan Fuster.\n\n\nThursday, 29 January · 6.30 pmRound table: Behind the Camera.
