Since 1943, the Moors and Christians of San Blas have gained prominence, noted for their rich musical tradition with over 100 original pieces and 2,000 musicians in the Entrances. The Concert in Tribute to Festive Music is a key highlight. San Blas also stands out culturally with competitions and exhibitions, showcasing elegance and simplicity in the Valencian Community.
Moors and Christians of Altozano
Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest | August
Established in 1945 and officially recognized in 1980, the Moors and Christians of Altozano are a reference point for the festival. The Embassy Workshop School, active since 2010, plays a crucial role in training future ambassadors. Nearly 700 participants from 13 associations reenact the Reconquista’s history, making it a cornerstone for both the city and the province.
Moors and Christians of Villafranqueza, "El Palamo"

Since 1975, the Villafranqueza Moors and Christians Festival has been a major event, with 600 participants and 15 associations. The Embassies, featuring texts by Vicente Mojica, are its most symbolic and theatrical act. The festival also boasts a unique musical heritage with 21 compositions, including Moorish marches and pasodobles, offering an intense celebration of tradition and culture in every corner.
Moors and Christians of El Rebolledo
Festival of Local Tourist Interest | July
Since becoming official in 1996, the Moors and Christians of El Rebolledo have brought together 200 participants across six associations. Every July, this small enclave relives the Reconquista’s history with authenticity and tradition. Deeply connected to its roots, the festival reflects popular culture and local pride.
Great Moorish Landing
On the first weekend of August, Alicante relives its rich history with the Grand Moorish Landing, a spectacular event firmly rooted in the city’s calendar. During these days, Postiguet Beach transforms into the stage for a dramatic reenactment of the 1599 battle between Berber pirates and Christian forces. The event features hundreds of participants in Moorish and Christian camps, alongside spectacular faluchos simulating the arrival of the Crescent Moon faction. The celebration includes a pyrotechnic display, horseback riders, and narrators, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees. The celebration also coincides with the Festival of the Virgin of Remedy, which adds special value to the festivity. Date: Variable. Early August
