Dedicated to the emblematic Fogueres de Sant Joan, this unique exhibition reveals, through historical documents, photographs, costumes, and preserved figures, how these festivities have shaped the city’s identity since their inception in 1928. Declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest in 1983, the Fogueres are much more than a celebration—they are the soul of Alicante, a tribute to fire, art, and tradition. The museum invites visitors to explore the history and evolution of this festival, from its beginnings to its growth as one of the city’s major tourist attractions. Inside, you can admire the famous Ninots Indultats, artistic figures of great beauty that have been spared from the flames year after year through popular vote. These masterpieces stand out for their detailed craftsmanship and the emotions they convey, bearing witness to Alicante’s creativity.
Beyond its visual appeal, the Fogueres Museum showcases the cultural and social significance of Alicante’s grand festival, from its artistic expressions to its impact on the city’s daily life.
