SUMMARY:Closing of the exhibition ‘Kara Walker. Burning Village’
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition Kara Walker. Burning Village, which has been on display at MACA since 28 February, closes on Sunday 7 September, and to mark the occasion, the museum has organised a series of special activities for all audiences.\nAlong with the usual weekend guided tours (Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 12 noon), MACA wants to close one of its most popular exhibitions to date with a special programme focusing on the artist.\nThe activities will begin on Saturday 6 September at 12 noon with ‘Grandes artistas a secas’ (Great Artists, Plain and Simple), a tour with vermouth, in collaboration with the Consorci de Museus de la Generalitat Valenciana, with which the museum aims to highlight the work of women artists, so often forgotten. On this occasion, the focus will be on Kara Walker.\nIn the afternoon, at 7 pm in the Plaza de Santa María, the group of young people from the Burning Summer 25 performing arts campus, inspired by Kara Walker, will premiere ‘Picos de Europa’ (Peaks of Europe), a showcase of the collective creative process.\nFinally, to round off the day, at 8 pm, attendees will be able to enjoy African dance and percussion by Luna de África, a group that fuses music, movement and tradition to connect people with the origins of Africa and spread African cultural wealth, promoting intercultural understanding.\nAdmission to all activities is free, except for ‘Grandes artistas a secas’ (Great Artists, Plain and Simple), for which registration is required on the museum’s website.\n
