Alicante, historic capital of Mediterranean wine”, which will be held from October 29 to 31 at the MARQ, an exclusive program of guided tastings will take place in unique locations around the city, led by renowned sommeliers and international experts. The initiative, organized by the Alicante City Council Tourism Board, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), and the Regulatory Council of the PDO Vinos de Alicante, is particularly significant in a year when the city holds the title of Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2025.\nRegistration:\nPlaces are limited and can be reserved via the official website vinosalicantedop.org/catas-congreso-internacional/  \nTasting program:\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober 29, 7:00 p.m. – Santa Bárbara Castle\nFirst session entitled “Tasting History,” led by renowned British writer and influencer Sarah Jane Evans, who will focus the experience on the great classic wines of the Mare Nostrum.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOctober 30, 7:00 p.m. – Casa Mediterráneo\nTasting entitled “Young People with History,” led by María José Huertas (Casino de Madrid) and Beth Willard (collaborator with Tim Atkin and judge at the Decanter World Awards). Both will present wines made using ancestral techniques, native varieties in the process of recovery, and projects that rescue forgotten traditions from different corners of the Mediterranean.\nOctober 31, 5:00 p.m. – Cloister of the Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás Closing of the series with “In Fondillón Veritas,” a tasting tribute to Fondillón, a historic wine that embodies the wine identity of Alicante. It will be led by Pedro Ballesteros, the first Spaniard to obtain the title of Master of Wine, and Ferran Centelles, Drinks Manager at El Bulli Foundation.\n
