DESCRIPTION:The  PhotoAlicante International Contemporary Photography Festival0 returns to Las Cigarreras with an extensive programme of exhibitions, audiovisual screenings, workshops and a photography conference.\nPromoted by the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana (CMCV) in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Alicante City Council, the festival celebrates its 12th edition under the slogan ‘Beyond…’, an invitation to explore the limits of the image and the frontier territories of contemporary photography.\nAmong its main offerings are the following exhibitions:\n\n\n« Threshold. Border Territories, » a central exhibition curated by Mawa Ordúñez, with works by Ixone Sádaba, Daniel Muñoz, Demsky, Jone Elorriaga, Maite Leyún, Jorge Isla, and Cao Shu, which reflect on intermediate spaces and the limits of the visible.\n\n\n‘Las otras que miran’ (The Others Who Watch), dedicated to young female creators from Alicante —Sara Adán, Neus Castro, Cintia Bañón and Sheila Lledó— who address issues such as identity, the body, mental health and inner transformation from an intimate and generational perspective.\n\n\nThe programme is rounded off with creative workshops, such as ‘Ravah: scraps and memory’, the intervention ‘The Urge of Living’ by photographer Alberto Polo, and various audiovisual projections such as “Varrio” and “Afónica”.\nIn addition, Las Cigarreras will host the 8th BEPHOTO International Photography Congress on 24 and 25 October, a meeting point for professionals, creators and photography enthusiasts.\n📷 The full programme is available at 👉 photoalicante.com\n📸 PhotoAlicante 2025\n📅 From 25 October to 16 November 2025\n📍 Las Cigarreras Cultural Centre (Alicante)\n🌐 More information: photoalicante.com\n
